Transcription of DNA from the RNA Genome of HIV
In order for a DNA strand to elongate, the phosphate group of a free deoxyribonucleotide bonds to the hydroxyl (OH) on the 3' carbon of the deoxyribose of the last deoxyribonucleotide in the strand.
