IL-2 produced by an
activated T4-helper lymphocyte, binds to the IL-2 receptors on the activated
T8-lymphocytes. The subset
of T4-lymphocytes that normally interact with macrophages and T8-lymphocytes
to promote cell-mediated immunity are called Th1 lymphocytes.
