Welcome
Are you a comfortable with the computer and familiar with Adobe? Do you want to learn how to create graphics such as logos, illustrations, digital photo images, posters, and more? If so, this online section of Introduction to Computer Graphics is for you!
Fall 2007:
This section is different from every other CGVC 101 section because it is a hybrid course -- both online and face-to-face class sessions. All face-to-face sessions will be held at the Catonsville campus in the CGVC labs. Four required face-to-face sessions will be scheduled during the semester in the evening or on a Saturday.
You would be considered a perfect fit for this section if you meet one of the following criteria:
- You have used an Adobe program (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). This implies that you have used the software more than once, and are more than vaguely familiar with the program.
OR - You are a graphics professional who works in other software programs (e.g. Quark or Corel) besides Adobe. You are experienced in these programs and simply need an introduction to the Adobe brand.
OR - You are computer savvy and pick up software on your own quickly. You most likely use many computer programs and feel at ease at the computer.
Note: This course will be taught using the latest version of Adobe software - version CS3 (three). CS3 is significantly different in its appearance than CS2. Access to CS3 is highly recommended as all tutorials, books, and videos will 'look' like this version.
If you do not fit any of these criteria, consider signing up for a face to face section of CGVC 101, or contact the CGVC department, or me, for more help (Assistant Professor Deborah Ciccarelli - dciccarelli@ccbcmd.edu, Coordinator Associate Professor Erik Miller - emiller@ccbcmd.edu)
