Math and mimio!

Teaching and learning online is great, but as a faculty member, Donna Tupper really missed having a good old-fashioned blackboard.  Using a software/hardware packaged called mimio, she now has one.  Below are some problems that her students have asked her to work out over the past couple semesters.  Most of these examples come from the ELMO exercises.  If you are having a problem in Intermediate Algebra, take a look.  Come back and visit often.  Online students are always asking for questions "to be put on the board."

In order to view the online presentations that are sound enhanced, you will need to install the RealOne Player.  If you do not have RealOne player already installed on your machine, it is available for free from RealPlayer.  Simply click on the link Download the RealOne Player and choose the link on the lower right side "Download the Free RealOne Player Only".  When you are done, click the BACK button on your browser to get to this page.  Then get your popcorn and enjoy the show.

One other thing to remember, these presentations take a lot of memory and may take a while to download.  Be patient.  It is worth the wait.

Connect to Multiplying Radicals. - find out how to multiply binomials that involve radicals.  You'll find out it is just a matter of FOIL.

Dividing Complex Numbers - find out how to divide complex numbers.  You'll see it is just a matter of multiplying the numerator and denominator by the complex conjugate of the denominator.
