Greg Fiore : Instructor's Bio
Welcome to the wave of the future. I am happy to be your guide through this Internet course.
I
have been teaching for 28 years. This includes teaching mathematics and some
computer science for CCBC Dundalk for 20+ years. I also taught math and/or computer
science at CCBC Essex, Harford Community College, and Towson University. I earned
my Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Loyola College in Baltimore.
I have a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Purdue University where
my area of study was Algebraic Topology. I also have a Master of Science degree
in Computer Science from Loyola College in Hunt Valley. I have coursework at
Johns Hopkins University in statistics and education.
My interest is in the application of mathematics and computer science to solving practical problems. I have published a dozen articles on these applications in a variety of journals, including the AMATYC Journal and the Mathematics Teacher. I have also written several textbooks, one of which (Basic Mathematics for College Students) was published by HarperCollins in 1992.
I was born and raised in the Baltimore area. I am an avid guitarist (unplugged), a lazy jogger, and an addicted trail biker. I live in Bel Air with my family.
