Math 125: Finite Mathematics and Modeling....: Welcome

Welcome to Math 125 on the World Wide Web!

The title of this course is Finite Mathematics and Modeling. This is an applied course. We will use mathematics to solve a wide variety of practical problems. Several examples are:

You will be shown how to use technology to help you solve applied problems. You will also be introduced to several internet sites to help you formulate and solve problems. The prerequisite for this course is Math 083, or an appropriate score on the college assessment test, or consent of the instructor.

If this is your first web course, it will be an adventure for you. No doubt you will learn more about web communication while taking this course. In itself this is valuable preparation for your future and your career. However, this takes time. There may be frustrations. But as your guide through this course, I look forward to helping you deal with the problems you will encounter. To get the most out of this course, you should have the willingness to give the hours necessary to learn how to learn on the web.

Once you sign up for this course, send me an email at gfiore@ccbcmd.edu, and I will send you an attachment by return email a week before the semester begins. This attachment will get you started in the course.
