Welcome to the online Theories of Personality (Psych 217) course at the Community College of Baltimore County. My name is Marjan Ghahramanlou and I am an Adjunct Professor of Psychology, serving as your instructor in this course. I am confident that you will find the topics discussed in this course fascinating as well as applicable to your future experiences and interactions. Following your successful completion of Theories of Personality, you will have an increased understanding of the various components of personality development from each major theorist's viewpoint. I hope that such understanding will be useful to you in gaining future insight into the underlying causes of your own personality as well as those you come in contact with.

The topics covered in our online course will be identical to those discussed in its traditional counterparts. The major difference is that we will not have face-to-face interaction with one another. Our exchange of information, individual conversations, and group discussions will take place over the Internet. I encourage all of you to consider attending an orientation session during the first week of the semester so that you may better familiarize yourself to the format and structure of this course. I look forward to meeting each of you either personally or "virtually"!

  • A brief statement outlining your reason(s) for enrolling in Theories of Personality
• The course orientation is designed to help you in successfully completing this course. Plan to attend. Attendance is extremely important if this is your first experience with an online course. The orientation date, time and location are listed in the course schedule. Every student in the course is strongly encouraged to attend this orientation.
