Templates for Designing On-line Course

Templates are available to faculty members who are designing an on-line course. The templates can be used for creating both the public component of your course or the WebCT course content. The templates are identical except for the color of the menu.

Instructions for Downloading and Installing:

  1. To download and install the templates, click on the link to the color of template you want to download.
  2. If you are using Smart Download for Netscape it will download the file to your hard drive and give you the option to install them. If you select INSTALL, by default the templates will be installed in a folder C:\courseName. It is intended that you customize the folder by renaming it. For example, you might customize it to read C:\engl101. You should not use spaces or special characters in the folder name. If you choose not to install the templates immediately, you can install them at a later date by going to your hard drive and look for a folder called My Download Files. In that file you will find the executable templates file. You can install it from that folder by clicking on the executable file. (An executable file has a .exe extension.)
  3. If you download it without using Smart Download for Netscape, you will be asked where you want to put the template file. I suggest you put it on your Desktop so that it is easy to find.
  4. Once you have downloaded the executable, you can expand the files by clicking on the file. By default the templates will be installed in a folder C:\courseName. It is intended that you customize the folder by renaming it. For example, you might customize it to read C:\engl101. You should not use spaces or special characters in the folder name.
