Welcome to the Virtual Academy Online!

The Virtual Academy provides faculty with the training and skills necessary to develop and facilitate quality, online courses. CCBC is committed to fostering progressive technologies allowing students to learn anytime and anywhere. The Virtual Academy includes four modules of instruction: CCBC Online Policies and Procedures, Online Pedagogy, Dreamweaver and WebCT. Through the course of Academy, you will:

• Become familiar with the pedagogy of online learning.
• Integrate Best Practices of online instruction and pedagogy into your course design.
• Assess your teaching style and evaluate your traditional course.
• Modify your course to be consistent with the demands of an online environment.
• Become familiar with the CCBC templates for online courses.
• Customize CCBC templates for your online course using Macromedia Dreamweaver.
• Create both public information and course content pages for your online course.
• Develop your online course using WebCT. WebCT is the course management software adopted by CCBC for the development and delivery of online instruction.
