Hardware
Requirements for Taking the Virtual Academy
To successfully
participate in the Virtual Academy you should meet the following hardware
requirements:
Internet
Access:
You should
have a relatively fast Internet connection. A 56K modem connection
is the minimum connection speed. It is more desirable that you access
the course via a network connection, a cable modem or a DSL connection.
Minimal Computer Hardware requirements:
- IBM/Intel machines: Pentium-III with at least 128 Megabytes of memory, although
256 megs of memory are preferred. You need at least a 2 Gigabyte hard
drive and monitor.
- A sound
card
- A CD rom
drive are also necessary to play the tutorials.

Macintosh: Power Mac based machine with at least 32 Megabytes of memory
and a minimum 2 Gigabyte hard drive.
