Below is an explanation of the icons that you will discover as you navigate the world of
Statistics on the World Wide Web.
Introductory Information contains
course policies and a weekly calendar of events followed by some instructors.
On-line exercises provides you with
practice problems. They are almost all multiple choice, but you will need to work them out
in the ususal way.
Practice unit exams links you to exams
which Donna Tupper gave in previous semesters. Your instructor will not give the same
exams, but at least you can get a basic idea of the types of questions I ask.
Minitab Video Tutorials links you to some little movie clips that Donna Tupper
created to show you how to use Minitab 15.
TI83/84 Video Tutorials links you to some little movie clips that Donna Tupper
created to show you how to use the TI83 and TI84. Make sure you download the printed tutorial so you can
follow along. The file is in pdf format, so you will need to download Adobe Acrobat. The link is on the page.
Web Assignments links you to assigned
"classwork" where the data is actually found on the WWW.
Webquest are web based assignments that involve students
using the WWW to analyze real data. These assignments come with complete
instructions and the grading rubric that is used to score student's results.
Java Applets links you to some nifty Java Applets
which will animate various topics we discuss throughout the semester. Most were found
through Duke Universities website.
Calculator links you to videos and a tutorial on
how use the TI-83 and TI-84.
