One
of the services which the L/TEC provides to Faculty and Staff on the CCBC
Essex Campus is the loan of a limited number of laptops and related equipment.
The laptops fall into two categories:
- Short Term use (two
laptops, two projectors, and a projector speaker) to facilitate presenting
at a conference or other one-time activity.
- Semester-Length use
(8 laptops available) in order to carry out a project such as:
- Applying for
a grant,
- Designing a
web-based or web-enhanced course,
- Integrating
multimedia presentations or web-based materials into an existing course,
- Anything else
that is of semester-length duration and enhances learning!
To apply for one of
the laptops, please complete the provided HTML form. The form can be filled
out and submitted electronically, but must then be printed and signed
before the equipment can actually be
loaned out. Just
bring the signed, printed form with you when you pick up the equipment.
We suggest that you also print a copy of the form for your own records.
Forms without specific return dates
will not be accepted.

Final
decisions of who receives the equipment will be based on:
- The relevance of the
described project to enhancing learning and teaching at CCBC Essex.
- The need for the requested
equipment to complete the project described and:
- The scope of the project
(i.e. that can it be completed within the scope of 120 days).
- Date received. If all
else is equal, applications will be completed in the order received.
Applications without
specific projects will certainly be considered, but only after those in
conjunction with projects have been accommodated.
