The Red and Black is the student newspaper for the Catonsville campus. The newspaper, which started in 1962, has a long tradition on the Catonsville campus of providing students with dynamic opportunities in the fields of journalism, photojournalism, publication design, management, writing, and advertising. The paper is published on a monthly basis and is produced by students under the guidance of experienced faculty members.
The Red and Black is currently administered through the Office of Student Life in the Learning and Student Development Division in close collaboration with the English, Mass Communications, and Computer Graphics/Visual Communications (CGVC) Departments. The Red & and Black office is on the second floor of the J-Building. The Faculty Advisors for the Red and Black are Chris Justice, Assistant Professor of English and Mass Communications (cjustice@ccbcmd.edu / (410) 455-4972) and Debby Ciccarelli, Assistant Professor of Computer Graphics and Visual Communication (dcicarrelli@ccbcmd.edu / (410) 455-4181). Chris advises the editors, writers, and cartoonists; Debby advises the layout artists and photographers.
The deadline for the March issue is February 23 (late content deadline is March 2); that issue will be available in newsstands on March 22.
There will be no April edition.
The deadline for the May issue is April 6 (late content deadline is April 13);
that issue will be available in newsstands on May 3.
