I would like to thank all of you for your work and attendance. I enjoyed teaching this class. If you ever have any JavaScript questions please feel free to contact me at my regular e-mail address. I will leave this email address open for probably another 30 days then close it in preparation for the next semester.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays to you all,

Update, November 30, 2008

Well, I finally got around to doing the stuff I am supposed to do. I have graded all of the homework I have received e-mails for and posted the grades. I also posted the mid term grades, just for your information. I have also brought the homework page up to date. If there is anything else I need to update please let me know.

See you all in class on Thursday. We will be discussing the chapter on AJAX, it is our last class, Dec 6th. Please give some thought any questions you may have for review. Next week is the final exam, Dec 11th.

Class 11, November 6, 2008

Well, actually it’s Monday night and I am finally getting around to updating the web site. I have uploaded the slides for the last two weeks, both chapters 7 and 8. I will do my best to get some of the homework graded either later tonight or tomorrow night.

As a side note, I have posted the homework assignment for chapter 8 but have forgotten which Case Project I assigned. So if someone would e-mail it to me I would appreciate it.

Class 9, October 23, 2008

Tonight we started class by reviewing the mid term exam. I was very pleased with the grades; I hope you were happy with your grade. We also covered Chapter 6 and OOP.

Next week we will be covering Chapter 7 and how to manipulate strings and arrays.

Class 6, September 18, 2008

We did not cover chapter 6; instead I presented additional slides on form validation. The additional slides have been uploaded to the Download section. Be sure to review the new slides as they will be covered by the mid-term exam.

Speaking of the mid-term exam, next class will be dedicated to the exam. Please be prepared. The exam will cover chapters 1 through 5 and the additional slides. There will be about 45 questions, each worth 2 points. It is open notes and open book.

I have also graded all homework that I have received e-mails for. There is a lot of missing assignments, please get them done as soon as possible and send me a note to grade them. If you don’t have a grade then I have not received an e-mail. If you have sent an e-mail, please verify the address and resend it.

If you have any questions, just ask and good luck on the exam.

Class 4, September 18, 2008

Covered chapter 4 this week.

Class 3, September 11, 2008

In class this week we finished the last few slides of chapter 2 and all of chapter 3. I was very surprised that we covered that much material and am a bit concerned that there were not more questions. If you have any questions please e-mail or call me. This chapter is very important for you to understand in order to fully use JavaScript to make decisions and change the direction of your code.

Next week is chapter 4. Please read it and be pre-paired for class.

Class 2, September 4, 2008

We completed all of chapter 1 and have 5 slides left in chapter 2. Hopefully next week we will complete chapter 3.

I have updated the Homework page with the chapter 2 homework and have also uploaded the slides for chapter 2. Homework for chapter 1 and 2 will be due next class.

If you have not done so yet, please remember to send me you e-mail address so that I can set up a mailing list.

Enjoy your wet weekend!

Class 1, August 28, 2008

Well, the first night of class is over and I am glad to see so many there. I hope everyone enjoyed the class and actually learned something, I hope you learn something in every class.

Because we did not get through all of the slides for chapter 1, don’t worry about getting the Case Projects done by the next class. They will be due Sept. 11. If you have any questions over what we covered in class please send me an e-mail.

For the next class we will finish up chapter 1 and also (hopefully) finish chapter 2.

For the remainder of our classes I am going to institute two new rules:
  1. If it is time for a break, somebody tell me!
  2. If it is time for class to end, somebody tell me!
I am sorry that I kept everyone after class was officially over. It was not intentional, I just lost track of time.

I have added the chapter 1 slides and the course syllabus to the Downloads page.

Please remember to send me your e-mail address.

See you next Thursday,
-- Dan
