What is he talking about?

December 31, 2005

As long as I can remember, I've wanted a pinball machine. They are wonderful games of skill and can eat up hours of time without you even realizing it.

About 2 weeks ago, I got in touch with a man who was selling two 1970's-era pinball machines.

One was a four player machine that was almost completely functional, and the other was a 2 player table that needed a fair amount of work.

I told him right up front that I couldn't afford either one at the time, but I would contact him again when I did get the money together. Well, December 28th rolls around and he e-mails me.

He tells me that he's just ordered a new machine and doesn't have the room to keep working on this one so he's giong to drop his asking price to $180.

I had gotten some money for Christmas and my birthday so I couldn't pass it up!

It's Home Now...

OK... Here are some pics of the machine right when I got it home.

It was playable as a one person game, or two if you manually tripped the player two relay. Some bulbs were burned out and player one's score didn't reset correctly.

There are some other issues with it, many of them are cosmetic, but I'm not worried. I've got a very good friend that was an electronics tech i the Coast Guard that I'm going to ask to help me. If she won't or doesn't have time, I think I'm going to enjoy learning how to fix electronics!
