New degree and certificate option for the graduates of four and five year craft apprenticeship programs. The new degree/cert. would give the student credit for 24-30 credit hours. The journeyman will take 15 credit hours (3 program requirements and 2 program electives = 5 classes) in the Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health Technology, and Survey area offered at CCBC Catonsville to earn a certificate. If students choose to earn the degree they will take an additional 25 credit hours (8 classes) of General Education requirements.
Construction Craft Professional Degree
The degree is for students who have completed a four or five year craft apprenticeship program in a technical craft area. The students will receive six credit hours for each year of the apprenticeship program, 24edit hours for a four year or 30 credit hours for a five year program. These classes will be credited after the student has completed two classes toward the degree or certificate at CCBC.
Courses may be taken in any sequence as long as course prerequisites are met. Some courses may be offered in alternate semesters only.
