Read chapter 15.1 (pgs 567-572) Study the Key reaction on pg 580 1-3 only

After studying this chapter:

1. Be able to draw the structure of the Grignard reagent which would form when a given alkyl or aryl halide react with Magnesium in ether or THF.

2. Be able to show how n-butyl lithium can be made from the reaction of n-butyl bromide with Li metal.

3. Be able to work the following problems in Chapter 15. 15.1, 15.2 (page 572) and at the end of the chapter 15.12a , 17, 18 &19
