Educational Background
Welcome to my faculty webpage. I have been at CCBC since 1998. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BS in Mathematical Sciences and a BA in Psychology and from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland with a MA in Leadership in Teaching, math concentration. Presently, I am enrolled in the doctoral program in Instructional Technology at Towson University.
Developmental Math Program
The Developmental Math Program offers various delivery techniques for students in need of one of our courses. Courses are offered in a traditional face-to-face format, as well as online, self-paced, fast-track, hybrid, and repeat sections. Use the links to the left to learn more about each format.
The developmental math courses are non-credit, but do count towards full-time status for a student for insurance or financial aid needs. Due to the non-credit nature of the courses, they have no impact on a student's GPA.
At present, the Catonsville campus uses the Aufmann, Barker, and Lockwood series from Houghton Mifflin for developmental math. MATH 081 uses Basic College Mathematics while MATH 082 and MATH 083 both use Intermediate Algebra. Be certain to double check the authors as there are several books with these titles.
Personal Information
I am married and have a great son. We enjoy hanging out together, camping, fishing, biking, or just watching TV. We also have a dog, a lab/boxer mix named Prizzi. Both my husband and I were born and raised in Baltimore so we are surrounded by family and friends.
I presently am studying at Towson University in Instructional Technology. My research interests lie in student achievement in different delivery methods (online, hybrid, face-to-face). I find it fascinating the research being completed in this area and check the online resources to keep up-to-date.
